PARENTAGE: Alocasia sinuata x Alocasia ‘Lukiwan’ (suspected parentage, as Wawan does not remamber the exact cross)
HYBRIDIZER: Wawan Santoso, the hybridizer of both Alocasia ‘Albatuwan’ and Alocasia ‘Lukiwan’
VARIEGATED FORMS: WHITE, YELLOW
DESCRIPTION: This hybrid retains the highly bullate and glabrous nature of Alocasia sinuata and Alocasia ‘Lukiwan’, as well as an open sinus when mature. Greenish white spathe and floral chamber.
Alocasia ‘Simpo’ was named after Bukit Simpo (Simpo Hills) in Malaysia, an area where one of the nurseries he used to work at is located.
