The name is a bit of a misnomer, stemming from one of the parents, Alocasia ‘Black Dragon’, sometimes being referred to as Alocasia ‘Black Maharani’ (again, no relation to Alocasia ‘Maharani’, other than sharing a parent and similar texture)
