The series was introduced by Oglesby and later reorganized through the addition Alocasia 'Ebony' (which features distinctive black petioles, while the others all have different shades of pink stems) and the discontinuation of Alocasia ‘Nairobi Nights’ , Alocasia ‘Nile High’, and Alocasia ‘Serengeti’

DESCRIPTION: Alocasia ‘Serengeti’ was one of the more unique members of the Safari series, with sagittate leaves, dinstinctive lobes and silvery-white venation, potentially pointing to the Unknown parent being Alocasia longiloba ‘Argyreia’
