HYBRIDIZER: The parent cultivar of this mutant form is registered by LariAnn Garner (Aroidia Research) - under US Plant Patent PP27050
VARIEGATION: N/A
DESCRIPTION: A very interesting dwarf mutant of Alocasia ‘Regal Shields’, displaying attractive triangular dark green leaves, with ruffled margins, very similar in look to Alocasia cucullata ‘Crinkles’. The mutation was first observed around 2016, though it was thought to not have survived in cultivation. It reappeared within the online grower community in 2023, via Mike D’Andrea, so it is possible a few specimens were left in private collections, or that a very similar mutation reoccurred.
